Hailing from Long Island, after receiving his MFA in Film from Columbia University, Matthew's thesis film Christopher Dispossessed, played at dozens of festivals including the Woodstock Film Festival, Sonoma International Film Festival, and the Hamptons International Film Festival, where it won the Golden Starfish Award.
In Fall 2009, Matthew was featured in Shots Magazine's New Director's Showcase. He has also produced over seventy hours of television, most recently serving as supervising producer on the scripted reality show, Urban Tarzan for Spike TV. Other credits include The First 48 on A&E, and History Channel's Swamp People. His company, Firebrand Films, is currently developing several features, including the neo noir Greed, with screenwriter Chris Merrill, an untitled mistaken identity thriller that Matthew's writing and directing, and The Interloper, based on Antoine Wilson's novel. Mutual Friends is his first feature film.
